Trumpf laser monitoring

Trumpf laser monitoring in Scout MES uses the laser’s production data: the SQL database or the CSV production file.

What data Scout reads from Trumpf lasers

  • from the SQL database: run status and program
  • from the CSV production file: new lines of the file with the time they were written

Other data (e.g. mode or part count) is determined during deployment.

Requirements: The Trumpf OSEON package may be required.

How the connection works

Scout reads the data over your factory LAN from the laser’s SQL database or CSV production file, with no electrical modifications. The machine does not need internet access: SCT (Scout Configuration Tool) runs as Windows services on a computer in your network and sends the data to the Scout server over HTTPS, so you do not need to open any inbound ports. We install and configure SCT remotely. You prepare a Windows computer in the LAN and send us the list of machines (control type and IP address). Scout only reads data. It does not control machine motion.

Frequently asked questions

What data does Scout read from a Trumpf laser?

From the SQL database: run status and program. From the CSV production file: new lines with the time they were written. Other data is determined during deployment.

Does a Trumpf laser need an extra package?

The Trumpf OSEON package may be required. We check this with you during deployment.

Who sets up the connection?

We do, remotely. You prepare a Windows computer in your LAN and send us the list of machines; we install and configure SCT and connect the machines. To add a machine later, you write to us and we change the configuration remotely.
